I was asked to lead the inaugural Royal Canadian Geographical Society Fellows Campaign. I said yes immediately. No deliberation. Because the moment called for it.
Then they asked if I would write the letter too. I had never written anything like it before. I said yes anyway and wrote the only way I know how. From the heart.
The Society turns 100 in 2029. Centennial programming runs into 2030. And the next chapter of that story gets written right now, by the Fellows already in the room.
